My grandchildren are in the car a lot and love to be able to see own shows!! the only draw back is that one of the units quit working and there was nothing apparently wrong with it that my son could see AND I had no way to return as they are in a different part of the country from me– if they have any more trouble with the new one at least I will have some recourse I hope this time!! Audiovox D1750T Portable DVD Player with 7-Inch LCD Overview

Thin as a paperback and always ready for audio/video action, the D1750T from Audiovox wears its liquid-crystal heart on its sleeve: a vivid, 7-inch, ever-open screen configured in a 16:9 aspect ratio to closely match the dimensions of your favorite movies. Slide your optical media in from the top, toaster style. The player spins more than just DVD-Video discs, however–it’s also compatible with DVD-R, DVD-RW, audio CD, CD-R, and CD-RW, as well as with both MP3- and JPEG-encoded discs. The entertainment possibilities are limitless.

A composite-video output–switchable with a composite-video input for viewing camcorder footage or a game console on the D1750T’s screen–simplifies hookup with your home TV, and the stereo minijack audio input conveniently doubles as a minijack optical digital-audio output for direct connection with a Dolby Digital or DTS-decoding AV surround receiver. Analog connecting cables are included.

The player also transmits infrared audio for use with wireless headphones–a great way to sidestep tangled cords when you’re on the road. Headphones, wired or otherwise, are not included.

The D1750T comes with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides up to 3 hours of playback, and the slender battery even serves as a stand for the player so you can watch it while it’s setting on a table–or a seat-back flight tray. (Power consumption depends on the operations of the player, such as screen brightness, volume level, etc.) The D1750T accepts AC 100 to 240V power (universal) via its AC power adapter for battery-free use in just about any country in the world.

What’s in the Box

Audiovox D1500A 5-Inch Portable DVD Player with Car Kit Review

We bought this for our kids to use on road trips, but shortly after purchasing it, started using it as our main DVD player when our original home cheapo DVD player broke. We have not a single problem in over two years of daily use, and with at least monthly use in the car, where it has been knocked over and abused by two little kids. It plays not only DVDs but VCDs and the DVDs we burn on our home computer without a glitch. Great purchase and we recommend it highly! Our next DVD player will be an Audivox.
